The combined (I and II) volume. Marcel Duchamp’s, Nude Descending a Staircase. His Cubist take on stop-action photography.
Art for Art’s Sake
Called ‘modern’ because about 200 years ago artists started to look to their own values ahead of those of their patrons. If a need to formulate such propositions results in gorgeous publications like this, then hallelujah. For my part, as labours go it’s hard to imagine having more fun at work.
Covers, Volume I and II

Volume I. Picasso’s Painter and Model, Art contemplating itself to abstraction.

Volume II. Lichtenstein’s Artist’s Studio, Art contemplating another Artist.
Alternative Covers
The title cascades with Duchamp’s descending nude. Lissitzky’s Proun 99 and detail. Art at its most austere.
