A Magnificent Subject
The only specific brief was to provide a common visual reference for each University college. Pictures had to be hunted down with some determination, often from odd sources. Many in questionable condition from the University needed restoration. Some of the best images where by true amateurs, free of any cost; not forgetting the very professional Malcolm Crowthers. Despite the difficulties, and because of the subject, it was deeply satisfying job.
